Today is:
World Teacher Day!
...according to Wikipedia this is a holiday just started in the 1990s to recognize
teacher organizations around the country that were formed for the purpose of seeing
that future generations got the best education possible....
I think if we look back to our years in school we all probably remember
a favorite teacher we had along the way....mine was one I had in junior high
school who spent the entire year reading us Edgar Allen Poe books... all
we did in his class day after day was listen to him read....I thought it was great....
all we had to do was sit and listen...he was a great reader and you honestly
felt like you were right in that book being a part of the story...
...the best part of course was that it was an easy class...nothing stressful about
it through the whole year....but getting so involved in the story you were listening
to was also a nice break from the pressures of the rest of the school day...and I
always felt that maybe that is why he planned his teaching that way....
...anyway...on with our holiday...
