BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - Days of the Week School Outfit Tags

As usual I am wrapping up this

Back to School Week 

with one of my favorite items that I have come across....

this is such a super great idea...

print these tags out for Monday through Friday...

then on the weekend you and your kids can choose

what outfit they will wear to school each day in the

upcoming week...put them on hangers and attach the

tag to them for whichever day you chose for that outfit...

this will make the mornings go easier for both

you and your child...

...and if you do it on Saturday instead of at bedtime

on Sunday night you can make it an even more fun event!

I love these tags and I think it's just a brilliant idea...

I remember laying awake some nights when my daughter was

little and trying to decide what I should have her wear to school

the next morning...wish I had thought of this back then...

BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - Pretty Scrap Paper Pencils

Kids love pretty pencils that are a little different than what

all the other kids have...

oh I know you can buy lots of different designs now but why

put extra money into the fancy ones when you can easily design

your own ...not only are they cheaper but they are a fun

project for you to do and surprise your kids with...

or they could even help by choosing or designing their own...

all you do here is cut out whatever paper you want to use

and Mod Podge it onto the pencil...

...you could even dress them up more by gluing on some

sparkly beads or glitter...fun fun !

BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - "Kid Art" Memory Book

You know how Moms and Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas are so reluctant to toss out anything

the child makes ? ....at least I have always been...

but this is a neat idea for those of you who don't want stacks of

papers piled here and there...

you can photograph the page of school art and then make it into a nice

scrapbook...perfect to give them when they are grown up....

...the problem for me is that I would still find myself hanging onto

the originals !

...but that's probably just me...

this really is a great idea and I'm sure it will be wonderful for

anyone who makes it...

BACK TO SCHOOL - Decoupage Rulers

Now this is just a great idea...

use the clear plastic rulers and Mod Podge and make them your own design!

the possibilities on this project are endless...

you could use pretty or cute scrapbook paper or

magazine pictures...and best of all...you could use your child's own

artwork...or family pictures...I could go on and on talking about

this...

but...one tip..I found that the lighter shades on the paper will work best so

the ruler numbers and lines show through...

use your imagination...hope you and your kids have lots of fun with this one...

I thought this was a pretty cute idea...

and so easy to do...

just glue pipe cleaners onto the cover of any notebook

and you have a colorful, fuzzy and fun new look....

you could use all the same color or a variety ...

BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - Fairy

I remember the first day of school each year when I was a kid...

it was stressful because there is the excitement of all your new clothes and shoes...

(especially the new shoes, oh how I loved those)

and the brand new school supplies...

but....I think all kids feel a little bit of fear too....they don't know what 

the teacher will be like or where they will have to sit in the classroom...

...this is a cute idea to help them relax the night before the

first day of school....

you read the poem to them and then

sprinkle a little 'magic' fairy' glitter or sequins under their pillow

and as the poem says it will help them sleep through the

night and have a great first day of school...

BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - Pencil Cases

I really love the idea of making crafts from simple items that

you always have around the house...you don't have to go out and about

and spend bunches of money on craft items...

I am really impressed with this simple little craft idea....

you make these pencil boxes out of cereal boxes...or cracker boxes...

whatever you happen to have on hand...

there is an easy template that you can print out and just

trace it onto the cardboard that you have chosen to use...

and look how cute these are...

I think I will make a few from my diet coke boxes and donate them

to the school supply drive...

BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - Daily Checklist

I can imagine that this would be great for families

on school mornings...

your child can check off each thing as they get it done

and then they won't forget anything...

school mornings can get pretty hectic sometimes and a list

like this will just make things go a little smoother for all...

...you don't have to print one of these for every day of

the school year...

just print one and cover it with contact paper and then it

will work like a white board where you can use it over and over

again...clear contact paper can be found at most dollar stores

so it's easy to get...just look in the area where they have the rolls

of shelf liner...it's great for so many things...

BACK TO SCHOOL WEEK - Bookplates

I ask myself...how could it possibly be time for school to start already??

it almost seems like summer didn't even happen this year doesn't it...

I remember my Mom telling me when I was growing up that the

older you get the faster time seems to fly by...I know now what she

meant by that...summer school break back when I was a kid

seemed to last a long time and now it zooms by so fast...

...but I hope all kids are excited and looking forward to getting

back to school with their friends....now the school year is not only

studying and learning but also lots of fun things going on...I think that

is great...wish we would have had that...

so...I thought it would be nice to do a

50's & 60's MEMORIES

HOWDY DOODY

"It's Howdy Doody time....."

Who remembers the Howdy Doody show?

....raising my hand....I do....I do!

This show is one of my first memories of TV when I was a kid...

we used to walk around singing the theme song all the time...

Howdy Doody was a silly little freckle-faced and smiley puppet

but to kids watching the show he was a REAL person!

...love these memories!

BACON EGG & CHEESE SANDWICHES

There are so many recipes for crescent roll breakfast

sandwiches...but this one just looks so delicious I had to

post it...I think it's because it says to brush the outside

with beaten egg....it makes it brown so beautifully.....

JELLO APPLE CHIPS

Every day we hear that we should 'eat healthy'

....I try to do that now and when I come across a recipe that I

consider healthy I like to not only try it but also post it here on

my blog for others too....

...these Apple Chips are made with nothing but

apple slices and jello....can't beat that for healthy and easy!

....the greatest part of this recipe is that you can use sugar free jello

for them and that makes them extra healthy....

I think it's a great idea for a snack...

a good one to surprise you kids with when they get home from

school in the afternoon right?

FRIENDLY FROSTY COASTERS

I know this is just the beginning of August..but...

I also know that when you do crafts of any kind it takes time

to make them...so...even though I complain a bit about stores putting

out Christmas decorations so early...here I am posting a snowman

CHEESY BACON CHICKEN CASSSEROLE

This casserole looks really good...

it would be delicious with the chicken in it alone

but then they went and added the bacon...yum!!

These printable birds are so cute and fun to make...

the printable was a little confusing at first but I think if you click

on the link and then click your right mouse button you will get a .pdf  for printing it....

I like this one because it has the design on it so all you have to do is
print it on whatever color paper you would like your bird to be...
