PRINTABLE WORD SEARCH SILVERWARE HOLDER

When I have guests for dinner I really enjoy dressing up the
table with fun things having to do with whatever the occasion or
holiday is at the time.....one of the things I like to do is create silverware
holders....this one is especially fun because I added a word search
puzzle to it that guests can do while waiting for dinner to be served....
just print, fold and secure with glue or tape...I like to use the double sided scotch tape
that is sticky on both sides...
...then just fold a napkin and put that along with your silverware inside
the pocket, don't for get to add a pen or pencil so they can work the
puzzle...(I left a little blank strip on the right side for clipping a pen on)

....hope lots of people have fun with this..after all...it's free!

....here is the printable...

BOLOGNA ROLLUP

I think most of you have probably seen this recipe before, but
since we recently celebrated 'bologna day' I thought I would post
it on here anyway....maybe some of you have forgotten how easy it
was to make and how good it tastes...just a food reminder I guess!

I like this one...but then I like all of the quick and easy little
Pillsbury kind of recipes...I sometimes wonder what we did before
crescent rolls came along....they sure have made kitchen work easier...

I may have brought his up here before but I often think about how
much easier cooking and baking is now compared to my mother and
grandmother's days...they would not have believed some of the things
available now...such as a 2 ingredient cake...they made everything from
scratch and would never have thought you could make a cake this way....
my mom did start using ready-made pie crusts but I remember when she
worked so hard making pies because everything was from scratch...
the interesting thing of it all is they never complained...that's just how things
were back then and they accepted it because it's all they knew...if I bake
something that takes more than 10 minutes or less to prepare for the pan
I am complaining about how 'this is taking so long' or 'why did I bother with this'
or, 'boy my back hurts from this!'  Back then they just did it and that was
that !  What I am getting at is that they were much stronger people than
we are I think...I feel like I am strong in a lot of ways but not like my
mother and grandmother were....they were amazing....

...now on with this great little recipe...

All you need is:

1 can Crescent Rolls
4 slices of bologna
4 sticks string cheese
1 egg
...you can get the instructions here...

NATIONAL BOLOGNA DAY

Today is....

National Bologna Day!

First of all I have to admit, I think I have always spelled the word
'b o l o g n a' wrong!  I always thought it was 'b a l o g n a'....
...and I have always wondered how it got that 'a' at the end of it....
as it's pronounced, one would think it would be 'ie' or 'e' or something
like that....but I guess it all just makes the word more interesting...

I love bologna, Oscar Meyer of course...it makes a great sandwich
with mayonnaise....and I have used it in many other ways which I  might have
already said on here...one of my husband's favorite suppers is sliced
ring bologna, fried potatoes and a little onion all mixed together in the pan...we have that often....
I also like to chop it up and brown it and mix it in macaroni and cheese or
scrambled eggs....and it's really good with mashed potatoes and cheese....
I could go on forever, I think it's one of the best foods for making in a variety of ways...and
it seems all the recipes that use it are really quick and simple to make...we love that
part don't we?

After this post I think Oscar Meyer should give me a bunch of bologna, right?
I mean this is a pretty good ad for them!
...but seriously, I'm sure the other brands are delicious too....
I'm just a picky eater, if I like a certain brand of something I stick with it....

So I just had to do something for this holiday...

introducing...

 da daaaa.....!!

Mr. Bologna!

CHEESECAKE DIP

Yum! Cheesecake Dip...
this would be so good with the strawberries she has in her
picture and lots of other fruits too....
I think it would even be good if you dip graham crackers in it...
would give you the taste of cheesecake along with the graham crust....

....it is pretty too...it would look so nice on a holiday
table.....

So easy to make too....only 3 ingredients....

enjoy!

....here is where I found this one....
she has lots of other fun things too so have fun looking around her blog...

HALLOWEEN FLASHLIGHT

What a cute idea this is.....again I wish I had thought of
this back in my daycare years....
it's such a simple idea too !

...all they did is cut Halloween designs out of felt
and put it on the front of a flashlight...it says to use the kind of felt
that is sticky on one side but I'm thinking just regular felt would stick
enough without that...

...this doesn't have to be just for Halloween....
it would be fun with other holiday designs too like a Christmas tree or
star or bells...lots of fun ideas for this one...

for supper when we were kids before sending us out trick or treating...
I wasn't fond of boiled hot dogs but for some reason that night they
always tasted so good !  (now I only eat them fried or grilled)...

SCARECROW MATCH GAME

Today my little scarecrow guy makes another appearance...
in the form of a matching game!

When we were kids we used to lay out a whole deck of cards
upside down and find matches...we had fun with that game...
although it took a long time just to set up the 54 cards before
we could start...

This is a quick and simple little matching game that
will be fun even for little kids...

Just print both pages and cut apart...
turn each card upside down and find two with matching outfits...
whoever gets the most when they are all picked up
wins the game!

RECYCLED BREAD TAGS

The ideas people come up with just amaze me sometimes...
how many times have you gone to throw away one of those little
plastic bread bag tags and thought twice about it and tossed it into
a drawer to save instead?  I have done this numerous times....
thinking sometime, somehow there will be a reason I wish I had one
of those...so I kept it...

....this lady has come up with a great idea for them and I can't
wait to make some of these...how cute!

...after you design them you can use them to close up treat bags,
cookie bags....anything...every little thing like this adds a little more
fun to a holiday gift....for any holiday...

I just love these, hope you all do too...
thank you Amanda for sharing...

MUG RUG (Crochet)

I have so many rolls of left-over yarns stuffed here and there
around the house....I always think there will be something that
I can use them for and I just hate to throw something like that away...
well...now we are getting close to the time that I like to make a few
little things to donate to the church's fall sale...so I decided to use up
some of it on an easy and quick little project for that...just as I was trying
to decide what to make I started coming across little 'Mug Rugs'
around the internet...and what great timing!

....so I sat down and came up with a fast and cute version of
my own...now I am going to town with my little Mug Rugs and
having fun doing them as I watch TV ....it's a nice little break from
everything else and they go so fast you can see your accomplishments
accumulate quickly...I have about 10 sets done already...

I have seen patterns for some that are about 10 inches long for the
purpose of putting your coffee or cocoa mug on them with a
snack alongside...but I wanted mine to just be little things big enough
to set your cup on...so here is my pattern....

Materials:
Crochet hook size K
4 ply yarn of choice (I use Red Heart)
Buttons and Beads (one per Mug Rug)

1.  Chain 12, turn.
2.  Sc in each of next 10 chains, ch 2, turn. (11 sc).
3.  Double crochet in 2nd sc from hook and next 9 sc., ch 2, turn (11 double crochet)
4.  Continue in this pattern until you have 8 rows of double crochet. End row 8 with 1 sc., turn.
5.  Sc all around 4 sides with ( sc, ch 1, sc,) in each corner.
6.  Hide ends and sew on button or bead of your choice.

That's it, I hope this is easy to follow. If there's any question feel free to ask...enjoy!

For the church sale I found that they fit just right in a Ziploc sandwich bag so I packaged a set of 2 together this way...

CANADIAN BACON & EGG BISCUITS

We are under tornado watches and warnings up here right now...
very unusual for North Dakota in October...I guess it has happened
but I myself do not remember any at this time of the year....
rotating tornadic clouds have just passed over us here in the city and
are heading north so I am a bit worried about family members who
may be in line with them next....

anyway...I was looking at Pillsbury.com for a recipe for the Jr. sized
biscuits since I had some on hand and didn't know what I wanted
to use them for...I came across the recipe they have where you use
two biscuits with scrambled eggs, sausage and cheese between them...
this sounded good and I was about to make it but then also remembered
that I had a whole package of round slices of Canadian bacon on hand too...
so I changed the recipe a bit and they turned out great!  I don't know if
anyone has created this one before or not but this is how I made mine...

I am going to try these with other fillings too...
I think they would be good with any kind of meat such as
ground beef, shredded pork, tuna, whatever you have on
hand would work fine....

You will need:

1 can Pillsbury Biscuit Jrs  (I'm sure any size would work fine)
4 eggs (scrambled)
5 slices Canadian Bacon
Shredded Cheddar Cheese (I used sharp Cheddar)

1. Press 5 biscuits into about a 4 1/2 inch circle.
2. Place 1 slice Canadian Bacon on each one.
3. Put the scrambled eggs on top of bacon.
4. Add shredded cheese to taste on top of eggs.
5. Press the other 5 biscuits large enough to fit over the top of each filled one and seal the edges all
    around.

Preheat over to 375 degress.  Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
(NOTE: I served these with hash browns and it was a delicious meal)

Here's a little Halloween Tic-Tac-Toe game printable
that I designed last night.....I love making these little holiday
things to share....hope somebody out there enjoys them!
There is a link to the .pdf file below the sample....

You may see my little scarecrow show up on more things
during this Halloween season...I have him in an animated file
that I will be sharing soon....just for fun to use in your emails and blogs if
you would like him.....

(NOTE: on my computer the entire background to this printout looks
gray, but it is white in my files and on the .pdf so it shouldn't use
as much ink to print as one would think from this picture).

ANIMATED HALLOWEEN ALPHABET

I have two animated Halloween alphabets that I am going to share on here...
I hope you all like them and will have fun using them...
...they should work on pretty much any blog and also in most emails....
a lot of people like to use them to spell out their name or initials as their signature
at the bottom of their emails....

....I am posting the entire alphabet here and if anyone wants it you should be able to
just right click on them and then be sure you save them as a .gif file to keep them
animated....you can take all of them or just the letters that you want...I am posting
them as 26 individual files.....

....this large 'K' is a closeup example of what they look like so I can post it on pinterest...
animations are below...

....have fun with these and I will add the second set in a few days....

PLASTIC CANVAS FACE MASK CLIPS

PLASTIC CANVAS FACE MASK CLIPS I have been sitting back wondering how I could help with this pandemic... I wanted to do...
