MAGIC DICE

Too cute!

I remember when I was a kid my uncle bought me one of those Magic 8 Balls and I had so much fun with it.  I wish I still had it now.

But, here is a printable Magic Dice that does the same!

Check out this blog.  She has so many fun things on there.

CORN CAKES

Anybody who has been at a holiday dinner at our house knows that the Scalloped Corn is my specialty when it comes to cooking.  Not only do I love it myself but anybody who has eaten it has complimented me very nicely on how good it is.

When I was young my mother showed me how to make it and she showed me one little trick that I have always used.  Along the way I came up with another little one of my own.  It's my two secrets to making what I think is the perfect scalloped corn!  I know there are recipes for it on the internet but it's my two tricks that I think makes mine special and I love secrets.....

soo.....I won't give them away.  Not just yet anyway.
But I will share with you this recipe I have for Corn Cakes.  Very delicious with ham or steak or just about anything as a side dish.  They are a nice change from potatoes or macaroni etc., although they would be good as a second side dish with those too!

2 cups cooked whole kernel corn, canned or fresh (drained)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
1 cup milk
1 beaten egg
1-1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2/3 teaspoon salt

1.  Combine corn, onion, milk, with beaten egg in a bowl
2.  Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.
3.  Add corn mixture and mix just enough to moisten.
4.  Drop 1/4 cup onto lightly greased griddle and fry until golden brown on both
     sides.

Here is the recipe for these Corn Cakes, enjoy!

PLASTIC SPOON FLOWER

I always thought that plastic spoons were as much for crafting as they were for eating with.
There are so many things you can do with them and they are so inexpensive.  A big bag of them at the dollar store makes a lot of crafts.

I have some ideas that I have created with them and will share on here later but I came across this website a while back and wanted to share it.  We have all seen the beautiful roses made with plastic spoons and here is another kind of flower made with them too.

This would be pretty to just sit on a table top or vanity, even a dresser...

Here is this lady's website, and I thank her for sharing !

SUPERHERO CUFFS

I guess since I have worked with little kids so much in the past and because I have always enjoyed doing crafts, I love little projects like this.  I think all kids would have fun making these and they are so easy to make.

Supplies are easy to come up with for this too.  Just some cardboard tubes (such as from inside of a roll of paper towels, etc.)

Print, cut, glue and add buttons or other fun things to fancy them up. I think I would add some sparkly rhinestones or glitter.  So easy!

Here is the link to the blog where I found these, it's a fun one..

PAPER BAG DAY

Checking my calendar of funny holidays again, I see that today is:

Paper Bag Day!

So I went on a search for fun to see what I could find in paper bag crafts and this is what I found.

How cute are these!  Just print them out on colored paper and glue them onto a paper lunch bag.  Your kids will have so much fun with them....and so will you....

Here are the templates for printing and the instructions:

Happy Paper Bag Day!

CHEESY RANCH POTATO BAKE

These are great with pork chops!  I do leave out the salt when I make it and it's still delicious.

4 pounds russet potatoes, cut into 1/4 inch cubes
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 tablespoons butter, cubed
1 (8 ounce) pkg shredded colby-monterey jack cheese blend
1 (8 ounce) bottle ranch dressing
1.  Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2   Lightly grease 9x13 inch baking dish.
3.  Place potatoes in baking dish, season with chili powder, salt and pepper.  Evenly
     distribute the butter over potatoes.
4.  Cover dish with aluminum foil, bake 1 hour until potatoes are tender.
5.  Remove from oven, mix in the cheese and ranch dressing.
6.  Continue to bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
