BIKE DRIVER'S LICENSE

This is pretty cute.
.  You can print out a 'driver's test' for kids to take to get a license to ride their bike.

After they take the written test and pass it you give them a driver's license (with their picture on) to carry with them.

...and here is the license...

I love this idea.  I think it would make them take bike riding more seriously and understand that even though it's a fun thing to do they have to be careful.

BUTTERSCOTCH RICE KRISPIES

If you love Rice Krispy treats do I have a website for you!

This girl has tons of recipes for all different flavors of them.  Things like Doritos Rice Krispies and Cheesecake Rice Krispies and on and on!

I must have looked at over 100 of them and still didn't check them all out yet.

I thought I would share some of them with you and if you want to check out all the others this is the link:

Her blog is great!

Butterscotch Rice Krispies:

4 Tbsp butter

6 cup marshmallows
3 Tbsp instant Butterscotch pudding mix
1 tsp vanilla
6 cup krispies
1/4 tsp salt
1/3-1/2 cup butterscotch chips (you can add more or less depending on your preference)

In a large mixing bowl combine the rice krispies, salt, and butterscotch chips. Set aside.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, turn the heat down to the lowest setting and add the marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are mostly all melted (this will take a few minutes--low and slow is key for perfect texture) then stir in the butterscotch pudding and vanilla.

Once fully melted, take them off heat and pour over the rice krispy mixture. Stir lightly to combine. Dump everything into a greased 9x9 pan. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, then with greased hands go in and flatten the top. Allow them to cool at least an hour. Enjoy!

FREEZE TOYS IN ICE

Back when I did many years of daycare I had to come up with my own projects and create fun ideas.  I did ok but how I wish now that I would have had a computer.  The ideas you can find on here are endless.

Who would have thought of freezing toys in ice for hours of fun outside!  Give them toy tools or kitchen spoons and let them chop away to get to the toys.  As the ice melts they get closer and closer to 'rescuing' the toys! It also cools them off on a hot and humid summer day.  Great fun!  (don't forget the sunscreen though because this will make them want to spend lots of time outside).

This website shows other fun ice ideas:

ICE CUBE TRAY LUNCH

Here is another idea I wish I had thought of back years ago.

I used to do variety lunches where I used a big tray and served lots of different things on it and the kids could make up their own little sandwiches.  They loved those lunches!

But this would have been a different and fun way to present it:

This is the website where I got this idea.  They have lots of suggestions for 'new uses for old things'.

CUPCAKE LINER POPSICLE DRIP CATCHER

Wow!  I wish I had thought of doing this years ago.  What a neat way to help little ones with their popsicle drips.  I'm thinking it would also work to make lollipops less messy and sticky for them too.

COCONUT JOYS

Here is a recipe that I made every year for Christmas.  They became a tradition in our house.  My daughter and I loved them and they were easy to make.

I altered the recipe a bit as below:

1-1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
small bag chocolate chips

1. In a large bowl, combine the coconut, confectioner's sugar and butter.

2. Form into 1" balls and make an indentation in the center of each one.

3. Melt chocolate chips in microwave and fill the center of each one.

4. Place on an aluminum foil or waxed paper-lined plate or pan.

5. Chill in refrigerator until chocolate is firm.

6. Store in refrigerator.

Here is the original recipe for these:

2- INGREDIENT PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE

This looks good! I am amazed at how many easy 2 or 3 ingredient recipes are out there.  Makes me want to try all of them!

1 pound white almond bark (broken into pieces)
1 jar (18 ounce) peanut butter

 1.  Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with plastic wrap long enough to overhang the dish by several inches on each side.

2.  Place broken bark into a large glass microwave-safe bowl and melt on low power in microwave for about 5 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds to 1 minute.  When coating is smooth and creamy, stir peanut butter into it until fudge is thoroughly combined.

3. Spread fudge into the prepared baking dish.

4.  Refrigerate until set, 1 to 2 hours.  Lift fudge out of pan using the wrap for handles and slice into squares with a pizza cutter.
