WATERMELON STICKS

Now this is a clever idea....

I wish I had thought of doing this back in my

daycare years...I would have given the kids watermelon

more often...

...when we were kids I only remember having

watermelon once a year and that was on

the 4th of July...

....we would get really excited when my parents

came home with that big green watermelon and we

could hardly wait to eat it...but for me...

it was one of those things that I wanted so bad and it

looked so good but at the first bite each year I

realized that it was not a favorite food of mine...

I know lots of people love it, including my husband....

I can eat it...just isn't my first choice on a tray...

..this would be a great way to serve it at a picnic though...

I like to add puzzles to them because it's a fun

way for guests to pass time while waiting for

dinner to be served...

kids love them and so do the adults...

don't forget to put pens or pencils on the table too!

I print them out and give to him...

STRAWBERRY OATMEAL BARS

I love anything oatmeal...something about the taste and the

texture of it that makes desserts so good....

I think these bars look great...

so pretty and delicious looking....

pretty easy recipe too considering it calls for

strawberry preserves....

I was reading the comments and there are a lot of

suggestions for making them with other kinds of fruit too...

I think they would be great with apple pie filling in them...

4TH OF JULY BOOKMARKS

Does it seem possible that it's only a couple of weeks until

the 4th of July ????

My husband always says that means we are half way through the summer...

it sure is coming up fast this year...

JELLO PATRIOTIC PIE

I'm probably the only one who has never seen

jello in a pie crust before...but how cool this is....

you could do this in any holiday colors  and

it would be just as pretty of a dessert....

I have made the kind where you whip up the jello

with Cool Whip and put it in a crust....

but not doing it this way...
