BACON CHEDDAR POTATO CAKES

Over the years my husband has attempted to make
potato patties, but he has always had a problem with

them falling apart in the pan....I didn't really know anything

about them and couldn't think of what to do to solve the problem...

his mother made them while he was growing up but he wasn't

sure what she did different...

I don't know why I didn't think of telling him to put some egg

in to hold them together...then I saw this recipe on Pinterest

and it hit me...so now we know and plan to make these

soon...

I think the added bacon and cheddar will be delicious...I bet

they would be a great side for a ham supper...

BREAKFAST ENCHILADAS

The awesome part of this recipe, besides how absolutely

delicious it is to eat is that you can make it the night before and

toss it in the oven when you get up the next morning...

this would be great for a Christmas or Easter morning or...

of course any other time....again I am thinking of having it

at supper time...breakfast supper is great....

you could put it together during the day and bake it later....

...you can also alter this one easily and use whatever

kind of meat you prefer...you can leave out any you 

don't want and it will still be great...

I do most of my cooking and baking early in the day

and then by supper all the preparation dishes are already

done and put away and we can just sit down and enjoy

our meal knowing all we have to do when we are done 

is clean up the plates etc. that we used to eat...

This recipe makes me think of fall...my favorite season of the year...

I love everything about it...the beautiful colors of the leaves falling

from the trees...the fresh crisp air, especially in the mornings...

the smell of pumpkin pie baking...Halloween decorations and costumes (not creepy ones),

the excitement of little kids when they talk about going trick or treating...

and most of all...the cooler temps that I look forward to all summer long...

everything about fall is just so awesome...

I have never eaten Hot Cross Buns myself

but my husband loves them...he bring some home from the

grocery store at Easter time every spring...

I have often asked him what was in them but he just said

this and that and wasn't sure...so I never dared try them...

I like to know what I am eating...haha...

...but then I found this simple recipe for them and it just

has raisins in them with a simple little frosting on top..

so since I love raisins I guess I could enjoy these...

I might even get brave now and try the ones he buys at the

store!

but...I will hold myself back from doing that....

even if you are not diabetic...

CRESCENT ROLL WEEK IS HERE!

Hello all of you out there in blog land...

I often talk about words that I find myself repeating over and over

here on my pages....well here's a couple of them together

that I repeat and repeat...

CRESCENT ROLLS!

...yep..I love Crescent Rolls and all those wonderful recipes that

we can so easily make with them...

so.... as some other bloggers do from time to time I have decided

to dedicate a week to those wonderful little things and post some of my favorites..

and I say 'some' because there are so many...

when I go looking for something different using Crescent Rolls

I find hundreds of great ideas for them...

...another thing that I have found with Crescent Rolls is that it's one

grocery item that you can buy other brands of and they work just as well

as the well-known names...at least the ones I have experimented with do..

I'm pretty picky about having my brand names in groceries as that's how

my mom was and I guess I followed in her footsteps on things like this...

but my husband has come home a couple times with a different brand

of Crescent Rolls and even though I complained a bit at the time

I went ahead and used them and they were fine...so sometimes it's best

to try something different before complaining!

(don't tell hubby I said that though)!

...so...sit back and enjoy these great recipes...

SLOW COOKER MASHED POTATOES

I love mashed potatoes but because of the work involved

in making them I have to admit I started using the box of

flakes kind instead many years ago...I love those too...

but after seeing this recipe I am going to try make some

'real' ones again...how easy it looks to make these..

the most work it would involve is to clean up the slow cooker

after supper...

I think I will make ours with the peelings on....but you can

do them either way....

BACON CHICKEN RANCH PIZZA

I need to search back through my posts here and see how many

times in a year I have typed the words "OH WOW"!

...when I think I have found or come up with the greatest recipe to post

I come across more and more and more that are just as great or even better...

...if you love bacon, chicken and ranch dressing....check this one out...

it looks fantastic and this is one I have a feeling my husband and I will be

making on a regular basis....

I am not saying it's a healthy recipe....but the fact that the whole pizza has

just 4 slices of bacon scattered across it maybe makes it not quite so bad in

the salty department...

...either way...when I hit a day that I say I just have to eat something

fantastic today...I will have this pizza!

STUPID POTATO CHILI CASSEROLE

My first thought when I saw this is why call it stupid??

...but she explains that it's so easy it's stupid...

It brings back memories for me...

my mother used to make a thick chili and serve it on top

of boiled potatoes...

.... it was not a favorite of mine but my sister loved it...

and she still does...

so this one is for her...

I think I may have to try it as I know there are other things

that I wouldn't eat as a child and I love them now...such as

bacon...green beans...etc.

MOZZARELLA CRESCENT ROLLS

Hi to all!

I hope you had a good day...

I thought I would send you into the work week

with this easy little recipe...

I am sure most of you have probably seen this one before

but I like to re-post recipes as a reminder...

I know from experience I sometimes wander off to

new ones and forget about the previous ones that we

enjoyed so much....

I have seen many, many similar to these but this is the one

I like best because it rolls the cheese stick up completely

inside of the crescent rolls as opposed to the ones that

use the triangle shaped crescent and have cheese spreading out around them

in the oven....at least for me they did that...

...these would also be good with a few little

slices of pepperoni in them...yum!

SPACE DAY

Most people think of this day of the year as May Day...

I remember how excited we were as little kids when this

date arrived because it meant we would get to make May baskets

in school...then we would leave them on our desk when we went

outside for recess....when we returned to our classroom

we would find our May baskets filled with candy!

...and the excitement did not end there because after we got

home neighbors would sometimes knock on our door and run away...

when we opened the door we would find another little basket of

candy on our doorstep...the plan was that you were supposed

to chase after the one who left it there and give them a big kiss

when you caught them...but I don't remember actually doing that part!

...all in all though we had a great time on May Day...

but...did you know that today is not just May Day....

it's also Space Day...

I don't know that too many people are really aware of this holiday...

I didn't know much about it until I started researching it and found lots

of information on it...

it was actually created in hopes of young people learning more

about space and science etc.
